I was scrolling through the interwebs the other day (as one does), and I stumbled across all this talk about custom Givenchy stuff. It got me thinking, like, who *actually* gets custom Givenchy? Is it just for celebs? I saw something about Ivanka Trump channeling Audrey in a custom Givenchy, which, okay, interesting choice. I mean, good on her, but is that really the *vibe*?
And then there’s the whole “designerify your dresses” thing. Someone out there is literally taking regular dresses and making them *look* like Givenchy. That’s kinda genius, right? Like, a DIY Givenchy? I’m kinda down. Maybe I should try that with that old dress in my closet… hmmm.
Plus, they’ve got this whole “G Givenchy” thing going on for menswear. Apparently, it’s all about the essentials, which, fair enough. But is it *really* Givenchy if it’s just, like, a plain white tee? IDK, seems a bit… watered down, if you ask me. Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure it’s a *really* nice plain white tee, probably costs more than my rent, lol.
But back to the custom thing… I saw something about wedding dresses designed by Riccardo Tisci (old news, I know, but still!). Seriously, imagine walking down the aisle in a custom Givenchy wedding dress. Talk about a power move! Probably costs the same as buying a small island, tho. So maybe I’ll just stick to that “designerify” project after all, y’know? Or maybe just, like, dream about it.
Givenchy’s definitely expanding into a lot of different directions. I guess it makes sense, they gotta stay relevant, right? But at the end of the day, that custom couture, *that’s* the real magic. Even if it’s just a dream for most of us. Unless… anyone wanna spot me a few thousand for a custom handbag? Just kidding… mostly.
