So, I was browsing online the other day, procrastinating on, like, everything, and I got totally sucked into this Burberry rabbit hole. The stuff is seriously everywhere. FARFETCH is hawking it, Burberry’s own site is, duh, and even NET-A-PORTER is trying to get in on the action. It’s a whole Burberry-palooza!
First off, the dresses. They got the whole spectrum covered. Like, you could be rocking a chill denim dress one day, then BAM! Silk evening gown the next. I saw some stuff with the Burberry Check, obvs, ’cause what’s Burberry without the check? But also some sleeveless numbers, which, honestly, I’m here for. Perfect for pretending it’s not still kinda chilly even though it’s practically summer.
Then there’s the “Burberry Classics” thing. Honestly, the name is kinda…redundant, right? Isn’t *everything* Burberry kinda a classic? Anyway, they’re pushing this idea of like, “iconic design meets modern shapes.” Sounds fancy, but basically it’s sweatshirts, tops, and trousers with a sprinkle of Burberry magic. Seasonal accessories too, for all you fashionistas out there. I did notice they mentioned hoodies and shirts, very casual. Hmmm, maybe TOO casual? I mean, it IS Burberry…
And speaking of casual, what’s the deal with all the men’s shirts? Like, I’m trying to find a killer Burberry trench coat for MYSELF, and they’re throwing all these “menswear collection” things at me. Okay, fine, the Heritage Trench Coats are admittedly pretty iconic. And cashmere scarves? Yes, please. But seriously, men’s shirts? Stay focused, Burberry!
Okay, so here’s my (totally unbiased, naturally) opinion. Burberry is, like, *the* status symbol. Always has been, probably always will be. The trench coat? A must-have. The check? Instantly recognizable. But sometimes I think they try *too* hard to be “modern” or “reimagined.” Like, just stick to what you’re good at, Burberry! Stop trying to be something you’re not.
And honestly, the price tag? Ouch. But hey, a girl can dream, right? Maybe someday I’ll have a closet full of Burberry, all neatly organized by color and style. Until then, I’ll just keep browsing and adding things to my (very optimistic) wishlist. And maybe buy a knock-off scarf from that street vendor down the block. Don’t tell anyone. 😉
