So, D&G, right? Founded by Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana back in ’85, apparently. I always just thought they like, *appeared* one day, fully formed, with a penchant for leopard print and unapologetic Italian glam. I mean, let’s be real, that’s their whole *thing*.
And the shoes? Oh, the shoes. You either love ’em or you hate ’em. There’s like, NO in-between. I’ve seen everything from ridiculously high heels dripping in jewels that look like they belong on a queen (or maybe a very wealthy, slightly extra, mob wife… just sayin’) to surprisingly comfy-looking sneakers plastered with their logo. Which, by the way, is EVERYWHERE. Subtle ain’t in their vocabulary.
Personally, I have *mixed* feelings. Like, sometimes I see a pair and I’m like, “OH. MY. GOD. I NEED those,” and other times I’m just…confused. It’s like they’re trying too hard, y’know? Like, “Look at me! I’m EXPENSIVE and ITALIAN!” We GET it, guys.
And speaking of expensive…oof. Let’s not even talk about the price tags. I once saw a pair of D&G sandals that cost more than my rent. MY *RENT*. I mean, who *actually* buys this stuff? Besides, like, celebrities and Russian oligarchs? It’s kinda insane.
But, I gotta admit, there’s something undeniably cool about them. They’re bold, they’re flashy, and they definitely make a statement. You’re not gonna blend in wearing D&G shoes, that’s for sure. It’s a real “look at me” kinda vibe. And hey, sometimes that’s exactly what you want, right?
I do wonder though, sometimes, if they’re, like, stuck in the past? I mean, that Sicilian grandma aesthetic is iconic, sure, but is it still relevant in 2024? Are people still rockin’ those heavy embellishments and that over-the-top opulence? I dunno. Maybe I’m just gettin’ old. Or maybe my fashion sense is just…lacking.
Anyway, the point is, Dolce & Gabbana shoes are…well, they’re *Dolce & Gabbana*. They’re a whole *thing*. And whether you love them or hate them, you can’t deny they’re definitely unforgettable. Plus, I bet they are pretty comfortable, I can imagine. But for that price? Sheesh.
