I mean, think about it. You’re gettin’ this gorgeous, probably super-expensive Hermes hat. Maybe it’s that denim bucket hat with the patches and badges – sounds kinda cool, actually. Or maybe it’s a straw Panama Brisa Brides De Gala hat – *fancy!* You’d *want* people to know you got an Hermes hat, wouldn’t you? What’s the point of a designer hat if you’re hidin’ it in a plain brown box like you’re, I dunno, smuggling contraband or somethin’?
See, this is where my brain kinda short circuits. The articles talk about protecting products and enhancing the unboxing experience, but… a plain box *detracts* from the unboxing experience of a lux product, doesn’t it? I feel like if I just spent a month’s rent on a hat, I’d want the whole shebang – fancy Hermes box, ribbon, the works! Not some generic-ass carton mailer.
Then there’s this whole thing about “quiet shipping.” Like, are we tryin’ to keep it a secret from the neighbors that you splurged on a hat? Is it a surprise gift? Okay, *maybe* then. But even then, I’d probably just have it shipped to my office or a friend’s place. The whole discreet packaging thing feels a bit overkill for a hat, ya know?
And don’t even get me started on the hat packing advice. Filling the crown with underwear? Seriously? I guess if you’re on a trip and trying to save space… but still. It just doesn’t scream “luxury experience,” does it? It screams “desperate attempt to cram everything into my suitcase.”
