First off, I’ve been seeing Fendi *everywhere* online. FARFETCH is pushing their stuff, telling me I can buy it in 12 installments (which, honestly, feels like a trap, lol). Then there’s the whole “dupe” situation. Apparently, the Peekaboo bag is a big deal, because everyone’s trying to copy it. I mean, if people are going to lengths to find “FENDI Peekaboo dupes,” that means it’s gotta be something desirable, right? Or just overpriced… maybe both?
And then you get the “buy genuine products” spiel. Of course, Fendi wants you to buy *their* stuff, not some knock-off from a dodgy street vendor. Makes sense. But honestly, is it worth the premium? You’re paying for the name, of course, but also for the, um, “peace of mind?” That’s a bit much, don’t you think? Like, a bag shouldn’t be giving me existential dread if it’s not “authentic.”
I saw someone selling a “Fendi Pequin Vintage Clutch” for, like, a couple grand. Vintage! That’s… interesting. Does vintage Fendi hold its value? Probably. But you gotta wonder if the person buying it is actually into vintage, or just wants to flex. My guess? Probably the latter. Sorry not sorry.
And the “Mamma Baguette.” What is *with* these names? Is this some inside joke I’m not privy to? Anyway, it’s even MORE expensive. I guess the “Mamma” version comes with extra status? I dunno.
Honestly, Fendi seems like a mixed bag (pun intended!). Some stuff is probably genuinely gorgeous and well-made. But a lot of it seems to be about the brand name and the image. And that’s fine, I guess. People are allowed to spend their money however they want. But personally? I’d probably rather spend that kind of cash on, like, a trip to Italy (where maybe I could actually *see* a Fendi factory or something. That would be kinda cool, right?). Or, you know, pay off my student loans. Priorities, people!
