And not just *some* of it. I’m talking seriously intricate stuff. I saw this thing about a Fendi Baguette bag, and OMG. The making of it? It’s insane. They’re, like, finding artisans all over Italy, people who *really* know their stuff, and getting them to contribute. That’s pretty cool, right? Supporting local talent, instead of just churning stuff out in some factory.
Then there’s the whole raphia thing. Apparently, some of their bags (or at least one, I think?) are made from raphia that’s, like, only found in Madagascar. I gotta say, that’s kinda eco-conscious, I guess? I mean, I don’t know how sustainable the whole *flying it to Italy* thing is, but, you know, at least they’re using natural materials. And it’s handcrafted.
And the lettering! Like, on those bangles? Handmade! I mean, you can tell, right? It’s not that perfectly laser-cut stuff. It’s got a, um, a *je ne sais quoi*. (Sorry, getting a bit pretentious there, lol). I saw one that was gold finish metal. Pretttyyyy.
Speaking of bags, I’m on the fence about the flower handle on that Peekaboo. Is it too much? It’s like, really out there. I almost wonder if it’s a dare from the design team. Like, “Let’s see if they’ll buy *this*!” Maybe that’s just me being cynical.
But yeah, handmade Fendi. It’s a thing. It’s not just about the price tag (though, let’s be real, the price tag is a BIG thing). It’s about the craftsmanship, the materials, the, dare I say it, the *passion* that goes into creating these things.
Oh! And it all started in Rome back in 1925, by Adele and Edoardo Fendi. So, like, a real OG of the fashion world. Gotta respect that.
