Let’s be real, they’re kinda… chunky. Like, “dad sneaker” chunky, but with, you know, a Lanvin price tag. And a whole lotta leather, suede, and mesh slapped together. It’s like they took a 90s skateboard shoe, dipped it in luxury, and then added extra laces just for the heck of it.
I saw ’em described as “90s-inspired” and yeah, I guess? If the 90s were all about wearing bricks on your feet that cost more than your rent. I mean, they definitely have that “look at me” thing going on. I’m not sure if that’s a good thing or a bad thing, though. Depends on how much you like attention, I guess.
And those laces? They’re *thicc*. Like, shoelace-rope-hybrid thicc. You could probably use ’em to tow a small car, maybe? I’m just saying, they’re substantial.
They also got some denim versions floating around. I dunno about those. Denim sneakers always feel a little… off. Like you’re wearing jeans on your feet. Which, okay, some people are into that. Not me, though.
And then there’s the Gallery Dept collab. Lanvin trying to get down with the cool kids? Maybe. I mean, it’s probably still expensive, and probably still kinda chunky, but with some artsy splatters thrown in for good measure. I’m not hating, just observing.
Honestly, are they worth the price tag? Probably not. But are they interesting? Absolutely. Are they gonna make you stand out in a crowd? You betcha. Would I personally rock ’em? Maybe, if someone paid me. Or if I suddenly won the lottery and decided to blow it all on some ridiculously overpriced, slightly-ugly-but-somehow-still-cool sneakers.
