So, from what I’m seeing, and honestly just from knowin’ the brand, Gucci doesn’t mess around with the cheap stuff. They’re all about that “supple leather,” “glossy leather,” and “premium materials” vibe. That stuff ain’t just marketing fluff, y’know? Like, you *can* feel the difference. I gotta admit, even I, who usually rocks sneakers from, let’s just say, *less* fancy places, can appreciate a good piece of leather. It just *feels* expensive.
And speaking of feeling, apparently their sneakers (and let’s be real, who’s buyin’ anything *but* sneakers these days?) are supposed to be comfy *and* durable. Which, like, better be, for the price point! I mean, imagine droppin’ like, a grand on a pair of shoes and then havin’ ’em fall apart after a few wears. Huge bummer.
Plus, they make it in Italy with like premium materials, right? I mean, I’m not sure if that is a big deal for everyone, but I would be sure to ask!
Now, I’ve seen some Gucci stuff that, honestly, I wouldn’t be caught dead in. Too “avant-garde” for my taste, ya know? Like, some of those runway creations…woah. But then you see the classic loafers, the clean sneakers, and those Gucci Horsebit 1955 handbags with the gold embossing…*chef’s kiss*. Timeless, elegant, and just screams “I have my life together (or at least I look like I do)”.
I also noticed that they use suede and canvas. I personally am not a big fan of canvas, but that is just me. I guess they want a lot of different materials and styles for everyone.
Okay, so here’s where I get a little confused, and maybe you will too: I was lookin’ at some outlet stuff (don’t judge, a girl’s gotta save money where she can!), and I saw this lace-up shoe with a GG canvas lining. Like, isn’t that kinda contradictory? You’re payin’ for the *leather*, right? Why hide it with canvas? Just seems a little…weird. Maybe it’s a comfort thing? I dunno.
