So, I was browsing around (as you do, when procrastination calls), and I stumbled across this weird mix of stuff. Fashionker.Pakistan is pushing a vintage reversible Ferragamo jacket (fancy!), and then there’s the usual “Salvatore Ferragamo Shoes” blurbs, trying to lure you in with promises of Italian luxury. And *then* there’s this… *thing*. “Unbranded Ferragamo.” Like, *what*?
My first thought? Counterfeit, obviously. I mean, come on. If it’s Ferragamo, it’s gonna be *branded*. That’s part of the whole deal. Paying a small fortune for the label and the percieved quality. You’re not exactly buying a “steal” here, right?
But then eBay pops up, saying “Get the best deals on Salvatore Ferragamo when you shop the largest online selection at eBay.com.” Okay, eBay, you’re always a gamble anyway, tbh. You could end up with the real deal, or you could end up with something that smells vaguely of leather and was clearly made in someone’s garage. Free shipping, tho, so win? (Not really.)
The “Vintage” ad thrown in there from some random place guaranteeing comfort is also just…weird. Like, are they suggesting vintage Ferragamo is now the epitome of cozy loungewear? I’m picturing some Italian grandma rocking Ferragamo pumps while baking biscotti, which is kinda awesome, actually. Maybe that’s the vibe they’re going for.
Then there’s this random “Salvatore Ferragamo Spicy Leather” ad pointing to The RealReal. Which, okay, consignment is cool. You *might* get a legit piece at a decent price. But “Spicy Leather”? What does that even *mean*? Does it smell like chili peppers? Is it just a marketing gimmick to make you think it’s somehow…sexier? I’m so confused.
