So, Goyard itself? French brand, been around forever, like since the 1800s! They started as trunk makers, which, I guess, back then was like being the Louis Vuitton of suitcases? But now, everyone wants their totes. Specifically, the Saint Louis. I mean, who doesn’t, amirite? Those things are everywhere, or at least they *feel* like they are when you’re scrolling through Instagram.

The Saint Louis is the one, like, *the* tote. It’s made of this Goyardine canvas stuff, which is basically fancy, patterned canvas, and apparently, it’s reversible. Reversible! Okay, that’s actually pretty cool. And it comes in sizes. PM, GM, and XXL. I think. Honestly, all the acronyms kinda blur together after a while. I always forget which is which. Probably should just google it, lol.

And then there’s the *vintage* angle. Which is where it gets, like, interesting. You can find these gorgeous, pre-loved Goyard pieces on sites like 1stDibs and eBay. I mean, talk about a treasure hunt! Some of them are, like, seriously old school. Imagine owning a piece of luggage from the *actual* 1800s! I’d be terrified to touch it, but also, I’d totally brag about it to everyone I knew.

But here’s the thing, and this is just my opinion, so take it with a grain of salt, okay? The vintage thing is kinda… tricky. You gotta be careful! There are SO many fakes out there. Like, a ridiculous amount. Seriously, do your research before you drop some serious cash on a bag. Check the stitching, the pattern, the overall vibe. If it feels off, it probably is. Trust your gut!

And even if it *is* real, is it worth it? I mean, a brand new Saint Louis isn’t exactly cheap, but a vintage one, depending on its condition, could be even *more* expensive. You’re paying for the history, the rarity, the… cachet, I guess? I don’t know. Sometimes I think I’d rather just get a new one and not worry about whether it’s going to fall apart on me the first time I try to carry my laptop in it. But then again, the thrill of finding a genuinely amazing vintage piece? That’s hard to beat.
